Energy and Exergy Investigation of a Solar Air Heater for Different Absorber Plate Configurations

In this paper, the effect of using different configurations absorber plate, including one line finned flat and two lines on thermal performance a plate – double passing solar air heater was investigated experimentally. L- shape fins are soldered to roughen generate vortices enhance heat transfer between working fluid (air) improve efficiency. The outdoor experimental test carried out during February May under weather conditions Baghdad city (Longitude 33.3 N Latitude 44.44 E). results show that temperature is 48 ℃, 47.5 58.5 ℃ at an velocity 1.7 m/s for single which increased 52 57.5 66 0.9 fins. efficiency by 28% 66% while 27% 51% m/s. average exergy destruction rate increases 37.6%, 60.6%, 68.66% fluid, glass cover, respectively, increase from 1.9 24.1% when
